Kasargod, October 14: A heart breaking incident has been reported from Seethangoli town where two men lost their lives after a private bus knocked their two wheelers after the bus driver lost control due break failure.

The incident occurred on Tuesday October 14th during the early hours of the day at Seethangoli.

The victims have been identified as Abdul Nasar (36), resident of Nellikunje CTM and Mohammed Kunhi alias Podia (42), resident of Puthige.

Abdul Nasar’s son Naufal (4) and Irshad (35) who were travelling by a scooter were badly injured in the incident. They are admitted to a hospital in Mangalore.

This accident occurred at Seethangoli town, while a private bus named ZMT was plying from Kasargod towards Seethangoli. It is learnt that Nasar expired on the spot while Mohammed succumbed to his grave injuries on the way to the hospital.

Abdul Nasar and his son were riding on a Yamaha bike.

The bus post break failure knocked a cow. The bus driver saw a crowd of people along with students waiting at the bus stop. He avoided the crowd but unable to take control over the bus, rammed into the two motor vehicles. Both the motor vehicles were dragged for about 150 meters and were completely mangled due to the accident.

Immediately, a mob gathered and pelted stones on the bus and damaged the glass. Traffic was disrupted as all the private buses were stopped. Eye witnesses alleged that the incident occurred due to over speeding. Commuters in the bus suffered minor injuries and were shifted to Kasargod and Kumble hospitals.

Nasar’s mortal remains were identified from his driving licence which was retrieved from in his pocket. Police shifted the mortal remains to Kasargod General Hospital.

Nasar was employed in the Gulf and had returned to his hometown two months ago. He was busy in his brisk preparations to return to Gulf within a couple of days and resume his duty.
