Mangalore, October 15: Cops have warned the citizens not to entertain the fake salespersons who visit door to door either to buy or sell sarees as well as various goods. Better to keep away from hawkers rather than awaiting dangers.
Thefts are regularly reported throughout the twin districts. Suratkal and Ullal are crime prone areas.
It has been learnt that, in addition to burgling houses, some persons venture out with an eve of selling goods. Either they come to loot the targeted spot or plan for the next theft or they pass message to the thieves who carry on their operation later.
It is reported that, some saree dealers are visiting houses around Suratkal. A particular saree dealer tells that he is collecting silk sarees and offering Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 3,000 per piece. Some have conclusively learned that he is a fake dealer.
These fake dealers may not just always come as saree dealers. They can change their profession to suit the situation, saying they are gas stove repairers, goldsmiths etc.
Cops have warned the citizens to be alert to avert danger.
