Smart Cops carry out brisk operation-Bandits nabbed within hours.

Kundapur, October 8: Bandits looted a jeweller in Uppunda Ambagilu near Byndoor and fled with gold worth more than Rs 25 lakhs during late hours after sunset on Tuesday October 7th.

A crew of five bandits stopped Ganesh Shet, proprietor of Mahalasa jewellers in Uppunda when he was on his way home accompanied by his son Sudheendra shet (28) and daughter Divya Shree(24) after closing his shop.

As usual he carried cash and jewellery with him. When the jeweller protested, he was stabbed on his neck. Meanwhile, the neighbour Sunil shet who came to rescue the victims was also attacked by the thieves. The robbers decamped with gold weighing around one kilogram and Cash.

Sudheendra shet is admitted to a Chinmaye hospital in Kundapur. Sunil shet is shifted to Manipal hospital for further treatment.

Details about the incident: A crew of 4/5 burglars in darkness attacked the pedestrians moving besides the paddy field, by sprinkling chilli flour on them after sunset around 8.30 pm. The father and children began screaming aloud who were attacked all of sudden. Meanwhile, the bandits began to stab father Ganesh and son Sudheendra keeping them as their target. On hearing their screams, the neighbour Sunil rushed to their help who was also badly attacked.

It is said the bandits were conversing in Hindi and Malayalam.

During this time Divya Shree ran away to a neighbouring home and explained about the attack. Meanwhile, the burglars had decamped with cash and jewellery through the Highway.

The smart Cops being alert on learning about the attack imposed surveillance in all the check-posts in the highway and were successful in nabbing the bandits.

Bandits nabbed: Brisk operation was carried out by the Byndoor Cops and other officials in check-posts at the highway to nab the bandits who burgled using a smart technique. By imposing a strong vigilance at various check-posts, the Byndoor cops are successful in nabbing triple bandits among their crew. As the Byndoor cops received a message that these bandits are travelling along the highway in a car, they themselves followed the vehicle and also passed information to various places. On seeing the Cops at Navunda, when these burglars tried to flee, the cops knocked at the rear end of their car and halted the car. The Cops have taken the three bandits into custody and one has escaped. The cops are tracking him.

The trio arrested are said to be hailing from Ripponpet, Karkala and Udupi.

The venue where the burglary took place at Uppunda and Navunda, the venue where the burglars were nabbed were crowded by thousands of people.

Byndoor Cops, have inspected the spot, registered a case and investigations are on.
