Mangalore, October 03: Ayudha pooja celebration was observed today all over the coastal area. This pooja is observed on the ninth day of Navaratri. All over the state, people usually wash their vehicles, decorate it colourfully like a bride and perform pooja.
Ayudha Puja is also celebrated in coastal area too with excitement. The Vehicle owners have visited the shrines in city today since early morning to get their vehicles performed the pooja and exhibited their devotion. In this eve, all over the coastal area, queue of vehicles was seen in all temples. Also, machinery in the factories and company operating in the city were performed pooja and Ayudha pooja was celebrated.
It is a wonderful experience if one gets into the streets on the day of Ayudha pooja. Our eyes are not enough to capture all the beautiful scenes…the different types of vehicles colourfully decorated moving on the road, the heaps of coconuts and ash-gourds broken in front of the shops, the colourful turmeric and kumkum(Red/Maroon coloured powder).The dasara fest which is one in the minds of Indians will be glorified through the Ayudha Pooja.
On the day of Ayudha pooja, it draws to a celebrative mood beginning from the push cart which sells vegetables to the factory and the software companies. Bicycle, bike, car, truck, computer and a variety of machines will be cleaned, including the household equipments such as Knife, TV, washing machines, screw driver, etc.. post which these items; paste of sandal wood is drawn in the form of stripes, variety of colourful flowers will be placed on, incense sticks will be burnt and worshipped.
By the by, the farmers do not forget to perform pooja to the ploughs which provides bread to entire country. Many of the machines and equipment, used in our daily life; including vehicles are worshipped.
The Mango leaves in front of the entrance door to will indicate a festive environment. The banana plant which is placed close to the door frame makes add’s up to the festivity.
All the workers take a holiday on that day, perform pooja, distribute sweet and enjoy the celebration. On this day all households features a festive atmosphere. This Ayudha pooja is also one among the festivities celebrating with the entire family.
In MYSORE PALACE on the day of Ayudha pooja, celebration is quite grand. On this day, special poojas will be performed to the weapons used by the Kings during war.
