Mangalore, September 29: A Whale was found dead at Panambur beach here on Sunday morning, September 28th.
Yatish Baikampady, chief executive officer of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project (PBTDP) said, “Shark was too young in its age. It was only about ten feet long. Whale might have been floated off shore after its death in sea. Panambur beach life guards noticed the dead shark on the beach and informed coastal security force”.
He said,“As, we could not move it, Panambur Beach Life guards with the help of local youths made a pit in the beach and buried the shark there”.
It is also learnt that external injuries were not observed on the body of the shark, and the cause of the death of 10 ft long whale shark is unknown.
