Mangalore, September 27: Cops have taken two persons into custody for allegedly duping hundreds its customers and agents by collecting money from them and failed to return it.
The arrested are namely Jeevraj Puranik from Sultan Battery and and Roshan D’Souza from Kodikal.
It is learnt that, the duo are the directors of Vruksha Business Solutions on KS Rao Road. The third director of the company is absconding.
As per the complaint lodged at Bunder police station, the firm promised high interest rates to customers, but failed to pay back as promised. The agents too were left in confusion. The total amount collected is believed to be in crores and hundreds of people are said to be affected.
Frequently, the customers and agents of the firm had protested demanding their money back, and each time they assured in different manner. They had even threatened of mass suicide.
The Bunder cops managed to nab the accused from BC Road in Bantwal on Friday September 26th. The arrested have been kept under judicial custody and investigations are going on.
