Gorigudde murder case- Cops carry out brisk operation-Four behind bars.

Mangalore, September 27: Pandeshwar Cops have put four persons behind bars in relation to the murder of a youth at Gorigudde in Mangalore.

The accused are namely Santosh Shettigar (38), Sandesh Kotiyan (21), Pavan Shetty (20) and Harshit Shetty (21).

Durgaprasad Shetty(30), was working for a chit fund company, in Gorigudde was stabbed to death on September 22nd.

According to police sources, Shettigar was the main accused in this case. He was arrested by police at Navabharath Circle in Mangalore. Based on the information given by him when probed, three others were held at Udupi.

The police said Durgaprasad owed Shettigar close to Rs. 10 lakh. Shettigar tried to contact Durgaprasad many times to get back the money.

In order to threaten Durgaprasad, Shettigar had paid the other three accused Rs. 10,000, police said.

Durgaprasad was badly assaulted and succumbed at private hospital.

This operation was carried out by the crew led by the crime branch inspector Valentine D’Souza, along with Dinakar Shetty, inspector at Pandeshwar Station and other Cops under the guidence of R Hitendra, Police commissioner Mangalore City, DCP Dr Jagadish, DCP Vishnuvardhan and Assistant commissioner of Police, Mangalore south sub-Division Pawan Nejoor.
