Udupi, September 26: The karkala jurisdiction ASP Annamalai had visited the Padur Shanthi gudde village On Thursday and had a discussion with the villagers about the alleged brutal act of sexual harassment of a calf which was let for grazing.
Since it is a different case, there are some technical drawbacks to prove the crime. Serious investigations have been under-taken by the department in regard to this case. Pertained to this case, the samples of evidences which are collected from the spot and the samples given by the Veterinary doctors are sent to Mangalore and Bangalore for the forensic science department to conduct tests.
The locals requested to take proper actions since they are facing the problems from the labourers residing in the Labour colony. Frequent requests have been made to the Padur Company authorities and the contractors to evacuate the labour colony; which has remained un–attended. They urged that the Cops should evacuate the labour colony being aware before the citizens take law into their hands.
ASP Annamalai, on responding to their grievance said that, the shifting of the labour colony will be discussed with the concerned and will be decided. Patrolling system will be introduced here, he assured.
Shirva SHO Ashok P, ZP member Arun Shetty Padoor, Majur Gram panchayat former chairman Subramanya Aithal, Gram Panchayat representatives, Ranganath Shetty, Karunakar Shetty including hundreds of locals were present on the occasion.
