Christmas Food Fiesta-Rising funds to aid the poor.

Mangalore, September 25: A food competition and fancy fair – “Christmas Food Fiesta-2014”, was opened at Bishop’s House here on Wednesday September 24th, which was organized by the Catholic Sabha Pradesh episcopal city deanery.

This competition is fund-raiser which would aid in building houses for 10 poor families.

Addressing the mass, chief guest Roy Castelino, president of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy said, “It is nice to see the foresightedness of Anil Lobo; even though Christmas is more than two months away, preparation has begun right now”.

“It is not easy to collect around Rs 30 lakhs for the construction of houses for 10 poor families. I wish them all success in the good work they have planned for the poor and may God bless them with strength to build more houses in the coming days”.

Spiritual director, Fr J B Crasta said, “This Christmas will be special for us as we are working for a good cause to help the poor build houses and also help them celebrate the festival like everyone else. This is not a single man’s effort, all need to work together as a team and make it a success”.

Lucky coupons were inaugurated by chief guest Roy Castelino and other guests on the dais.Lucky coupon books were distributed to presidents of episcopal city varado parish units.

Floral welcome to the guest was given by Varado Anil Lobo President of Episcopal city.

The programme was compered by Dolphy Saldhana.
