INDORE, January 24: A 12-year-old girl from Dewas, who was allegedly sold for Rs 75,000 to an unmarried youth in Rajgarh district in December, was rescued from her tormentors house late on Thursday night.
Four people, including the girl’s father, the youth to whom she was allegedly sold, the youth’s father and a mediator of the unholy deal, were arrested and booked for girl trafficking under Sections 372 and 373 of IPC.
The girl went missing from her house in Bagli area’s Buradia Kala village in Dewas district on December 18, 2014.
Just 10 days ago, volunteers working with Child Helpline in Dewas informed Bagli police that the girl had been sold by her father Nanu Ram to someone in Rajgarh district.
Bagli police station in charge BS Gore said, “Investigations led us to Kanadiya area of Indore, where the girl’s father was working as a daily wage labourer. After interrogation, Nanu Ram admitted to selling his daughter to a 19-year-old youth Rahul at Buradia village in Pachor area of Rajgarh district. While the girl’s father got Rs 40,000, Rs 35,000 was taken away by Chandar Gurjar as trafficking commission,”
Based on inputs given by Nanu Ram, his daughter was rescued from Rahul’s house in Buradia village of Rajgarh.
He added that since the girl was beaten up and sexually exploited by Rahul, he and his father will also be booked for kidnapping, rape, physical torture and under provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012.
