A major fraud detected from ATM cash loading staff; two arrested

Mangalore, May 07: It has been reported that in one of the major defrauds by the cash loading staff employed by Global management company, Bangalore and hired by ICICI bank for cash loading in ATM machines has been unearthed.

Sources said as much as Rs.48.5 lakhs has been withdrawn by the staff using the secret locks during night time from ATM after disabling the CC camera inside the centres.

The fraud came to light when ICICI and Global Management Company had conducted an audit for the reconciliation of cash movements. During an audit they found a mismatch figure in the ATMs and the amount mentioned in the record books.

The intensified investigation revealed the irregularities that two persons Gautama and Anilraj, both residents of Mangaladevi in Mangalore and employees of Global Management Company were the accused in the criminal act.

Sources said both accused were doing this fraud during the night time where there were no guard in the ATMs for the past ten months and Global Management company with headquarter in Mumbai has instructed the local branches on the amounts to be loaded to ATMs and the personnel thus visited the ATMs to load the cash.

The two personnel have been arrested by the Bunder Police for further investigation.
