Sharja, June 21: At the 12th annual fest of Sharja Karnataka Sanga, the prestigious Mayura award was presented to Harman Louis, who is a Director of a radio station and a social worker. The program was organized at the auditorium of Sharja Indian Association.
The chief guests inaugurated the program by lightning the traditional lamp. Harman was honoured with the Mayura award, his wife Nishita Louis and two daughters were present at the occasion.
After receiving the award Harman stated, “Now my responsibilities has increased, i will do my best to uphold the culture and dignity of the Kannada literature.”
Achievers in various fields were honored during the occasion. Anand Bailur, Varija Anand, Satish Poojari Rohini Anant, Deepak Somashekar, Varna Shetty, Shradda Devdas Shetty, Shashvik Divakar Shetty, Prapti, Prerana Pai and Cellisto were honored.
Actor Vijaya Ragavendra, Harini Madan, Balakrishanan, Y.A. Raheem, Harish Sherigar, Praveen Shenoy, Satish Venkatramana, M.A. Mulur, Anand Bailur, Ganesh Rai, Shashikant Kanangi and Shantaram Acharya were the guests present.
The audience including Kannadigas in large numbers and other fellow Indians enjoyed various Dance and music concert presented at the occasion. Harish Sherigar, Akshata Roa, Mallika, Divya Kumbe and Sharat entertained the audience with their melodious voice.
The grand finale of Chilivili Mayura cup Jodi Deemtanana Dance competition was also held during the occasion. The finalists performed and received great appreciation.
The winners are:
6-12 year category- Aditya and Unnati (first), Joistin and Aloriya (second), Prajwal and Disha (third).
13-20 year category- Avirat and Meloni (first), Rahul and Akshata Harish Sherigar (second), Cleon and Spesha Maitu (third).
21-35 year category- Hitesh and Shweta (first), Nickson and Sherel (second), Vishal and Sharol D’Souza (third).
36 and above- Manohar and Rashmi (first), Deepak and Nalinakshi (second), Vincent and Jacinta (third).
Rajesh Kuttar, Rohini Anant and Ganesh Rai hosted the whole program.
