In December 2016, United Arab Emirates President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan declared 2017 as The Year of Giving. The three key pillars for ‘giving ‘which are highlighted throughout the year were: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Volunteering, Serving the nation.
The thought of writing this article came into my mind as I was feeling very proud of myself as few months back, before the announcement, I made the courage to donate my hair which I loved the most for cancer patients. This donation has given me immense happiness that cannot be expressed in any words. In my experience, donating your hair is a much more personal gift than anything else. You’re sending a piece of yourself to a kid or adult who has a disease that’s caused them to lose their hair.
My parents always reward me for my piggy bank when I do exceptionally good in my classwork, sports or when I achieve something. With this money in my piggy bank, I managed to serve 25 labors early this year. It was on 26th Jan 2017 when I went to Labour camp & donated food to these people. The smile on their face & all the blessing that I got from them made me feel so special that I was speechless. From that day onwards I am working hard to get this piggy bank full so that during my 10th birthday which will fall on 23rd Dec I should increase the number of labors to be served. I am more concentrating on the labors as I feel they are the neediest and bringing some smile on their face will make me happy too.

It will be an honor if everybody starts helping the needy & bringing a smile on their face.
