Expat executed in Dammam for drug smuggling

DAMMAM: An expatriate worker in the kingdom was executed on Tuesday for drug smuggling, the Ministry of Interior said.

In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the ministry identified the expatriate as Mohammad Ishaq Thawab Gul, a Pakistani national, who had earlier been arrested while “trying to smuggle a quantity of heroin into the Kingdom.”

Gul’s execution was carried out after the Supreme Court affirmed his death sentence that were imposed by the lower courts.
