Kuwait: Marala Mallige, from a humble beginning made in popularizing and providing a forum for the Kuwait Kannada Koota members and kids, has grown leaps and bounds by becoming one of the committees of the KKK and then organizing annually “Marala Mallige Day” to show case the immense hidden talents of the Koota members and kids. This year, the MM Committee celebrated the MM-Day with a special theme of show casing Folk Culture and named the event as “JANAPADOTSAVA”. The event was held on the 25th of April at Carmel School, Khaitan, Kuwait.
The KKK president Dr. Diwakar Cheluvaiah along with the Executive Committee Vice-President, Mr. and Mrs Vishweshwar Karkal; Secretary, Mr & Mrs. Anant Mangalagi and treasurer Mr. and Mrs. Rajesh Vittal, inaugurated the JANAPADOTSAVA. After the invocation by the kids, Mrs Sandhya Arun and Mrs. Madhavi Kulkarni composed Raga and sang the JANAPADOTSAVA song. Lyrics for the geethe were provided by the MM-team.

. Azad, the MM convenor and in the stewardship of the co-convenor Shri Suresh Shetty, members of MM Smt. Suguna Mahesh, Smt. Kaveri Mohan Das, Smt. Nagamani Ullas, Shri Deepak Kanchi, Shri Kariyappa Nayandalli, several young kid competitions and high school kid competitions were held. Also for the adult members competitions such as Rangoli, Kannada hand writing, hair styling, humorous skit and couple competition- JANAPADA JODI were conducted that enthralled the audience. Release of the the KKK Magazine Marala Mallige special issue “JANAPADA SANCHIKE” was given a FOLK colour by making a BUDU BUDUKE shastra guy predicting and making the release though the kids. Kids of MM team anchored the events and competitions in coordination with the MM-team seniors. Ex-Officio Presidnets and senior members and all other committees extended their valuable help in making the programme a grand success.
