Salman Khan has never kissed on screen. He’s been a part of the industry for over 25 years but the actor has never been seen lip-locking with any of his co-stars. And when it came to launching his own proteges, Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, how could he let the same not happen? Salman has edited out a kissing scene from his film Hero.
Nikhil Advani, the director told a leading daily, “It was just a peck… A brush of the lips… But even before I could see it, Salman did, and insisted on editing it out. His argument was that in all these years, he had never kissed on screen, so there was no reason for his ‘children’ to lock lips.” Fair enough. After all, the launch pad that Salman has provided to the two newcomers is huge and he is taking keen interest in making sure his two children Athiya and Sooraj do not make any wrong moves.
The actor felt that Hero did not need the physical intimacy, hence the kiss was not required at all. And like they say, Salman had his way and got it chopped off from the film. The actor previously sat through the editing process and has also edited out 30 minutes of the film, which now has a runtime of 2 hours and 4 minutes.
Hero releases on September 11 .
