Contrary to what most of the internet is saying, Bollywood Babe Radhika Apte has not laughed off her nude video leak controversy. It had been reported that Apte was not interested in addressing (or was even concerned about) the stolen, partially nude clip of Apte that quickly went viral in India. However, she took to social media to address the growing controversy.
Several outlets had quoted Apte about the video, “I saw it and laughed it off because it is really funny. I am really busy. I can’t waste my time doing that. My family and I never get affected by any of these things. So it just doesn’t bother me.”
However, this quote came from an earlier controversy regarding alleged nude selfies stolen from the actress.
The film that the scene was taken from was a part of was a part of an international project by director Anurag Kashyap and Kashyap is furious. He spoke to Times of India about the whole affair:
“There is a short film of 20 minutes that I had been commissioned to direct.. This film was with subtitles and meant for release only in the international market. My story was inspired by a true story and is a very powerful film. It was very difficult to make this short film due to this little sequence in the film of a few seconds that involves the actress to lift her dress and expose her lower front part and needed that very minor partial nudity front shot.”
The director went on to say that he reported the theft to the Mumbai police and would take the appropriate measures when the culprits were found
Actress Shweta Prasad came to Apte’s defense. “I was there when it was shot,” Prasad stated. “I assisted Anurag on this film. I am very proud of this film . Radhika has nothing to be ashamed about.”
