Aishwarya is believed to be playing a lawyer in Jazbaa, opposite Irrfan Khan as a suspended cop.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s fans have a double reason to rejoice next month. Not only will the actress walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, scheduled to be held from May 13 to 24, her film Jazbaa will also be showcased on the French Riviera.
The film’s director Sanjay Gupta tweeted:
Today I’ll be editing with the very talented Bunty Nagi the JAZBAA showcase for Cannes 2015. Very excited about this one. :-)))

At least one filmmaker has previously cashed in on Aishwarya’s Cannes fame. In 2011, director Madhur Bhandarkar announced his film Heroine, starring Ash, on the sidelines of the film festival. Heroine was eventually made with actress Kareena Kapoor as Aishwarya went on maternity leave.
Meanwhile, there is much excitement around Jazbaa. A couple of days ago, Mr Gupta tweeted:

Aishwarya is believed to be playing a lawyer in Jazbaa, opposite Irrfan Khan as a suspended cop. The cast also includes Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Atul Kulkarni and Siddhanth Kapoor.
The film, which marks Aishwarya’s comeback to the silver screen after five years, will hit theatres on October 9.
