Kolkata : The death of popular Bengali actress Disha Ganguly has shocked everyone including the Bengali film industry. The 23-year-old actress allegedly hanged herself inside her room at her residence in Parnashree in Kolkata, police said.
The reason behind the death is unknown but police suspect it to be a case of suicide. However no suicide note has been recovered from the scene yet. Her body has been sent for post-mortem.
Initial reports reveals that, the actress had returned home after watching KKR’s opening match in the ongoing IPL 8 with her boyfriend and then, went to her boyfriend’s place to meet her mother.
Next day when she didn’t answered her boyfriend’s phone calls, he came down to her place and discovered her body hanging from the ceiling fan
Police have recovered Disha’s personal diary and her phone, and they are looking into it to get clues of her death. A number of her friends, along with her boyfriend are being questioned. Disha acted in popular Bengali serials like “Kanakanjali.”
