Sticking to his familiar Bengali territory, the Vicky Donor director again showcases a typical Bengali household. Deepika, who plays the title character, Piku, lives with her ailing father Amitabh. The trailer also shows a road-trip journey from Delhi to Kolkata during which the quirky father-daughter relationship is put to test. The arguments between Deepika and Amitabh are funny but also touching.
In an innovative trailer launch on Wednesday, the team invited the media to attend the launch with their parents. Deepika sent out a video invite to media persons inviting them to attend the launch with their parents who later met the cast and crew of the film.
Amitabh’s heavily Bengali-accented dialogues are a treat to watch as he hits the right nuances. Deepika carries the Bengali look with utmost perfection and looks stunning in every frame. Irrfan Khan looks fresh and acts as a mediator between the two.
