New Delhi: HT City Stars in the City has been a witness to many a filmstar, but none got the crowd cheering as much as this one did. And he’s not even one film old.

The controversial hero of the controversial film Messenger of God, Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insaan was candid to the core while responding to allegations and compliments alike. “Meri film dekhe bina hi itna shor kar rahe hain sab. Mein unko kehta hoon, pehle dekho toh sahi. You will then know that it is not against any religion or culture. It has one simple message, that young people should quit drugs and drinking,” says the 47-year-old ‘Guruji’, when asked about the controversies around his upcoming film.

Remind him that his film’s clearance by the censors got the entire board to resign, and he shrugs, “Humne kabhi aisa soocha hi nahi ki film se kisi ko koi takleef hogi. Kyuki isme kuch aisa thaa hi nahi.

The Guru, whose Dera Sacha Sauda has 17 Guiness records for social work to his credit, doesn’t mince words while admitting that making a Bollywood film seemed like a good idea to get the youth drawn to a good cause. Toh yahi sochke yeh film banaayi hai.”
