New Delhi: Filmmaker Karan Johar, who was a part of AIB Knockout, on Tuesday reacted to the controversy surrounding the show without taking any names. He tweeted, “Not your cup of tea…don’t drink it!!!”

Earlier in the day, Ashoke Pandit, who was recently made a member of the revamped censor board, dubbed a controversial AIB comedy show as “porn show on stage” and made some uncharitable remarks against Johar, a noted producer-director, who was the ‘roast-master’ at the event.

“Karan Johar could have easily shown his position while performing sex to his mom at home instead of making it public.#AIB Porn Show,” Pandit tweeted.

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, meanwhile, said his government would act against organisers of the show if it had violated any law.

“If the programme was vulgar and was in violation of law, then action will be taken against the organisers,” Fadnavis
told reporters in Kolhapur.

The state government on Monday ordered a probe into the comedy show organised by AIB (All India Bak****) after Mumbai police received multiple complaints against the show that went viral on the internet last week for using obscene language and content.

The first-of-its-kind show in India, AIB Knockout was an attempt to raise funds for charity. The show saw some stand-up comedians making jokes on the two celebrity guests in the forms of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor.

It didn’t go down well with many as it was shocking in its content and targeted the celebrities with vulgar and below-the-belt jokes. The organisers were accused of using ‘filthy and abusive’ language in public.

Meanwhile, state culture minister Vinod Tawde said the government did not intend do any “moral policing.”

“On #AIBRoast, will only enquire if the AIB had taken appropriate certificate. No moral policing.. if they are allowed by law, I can’t stop them,” Tawde tweeted.

Tawde had on Monday told reporters that “officials of the culture department will examine the (AIB show) videos for the content. If found vulgar, an action will be initiated.”
