CHENNAI: The mutilated body of a woman was found in a suitcase on Armstrong Street in Madhavaram Milk Colony on Monday. Police said the suitcase was lying on the road for the last two days and residents informed police on Monday evening. A police team rushed to the spot and found the decomposed body in it. Police have formed special teams to establish the identity of the woman. They are checking with police stations if any ‘person missing’ complaint has been filed.
Residents of the neighbourhood panicked on hearing about the body. Sniffer dogs were pressed into service but they could not make any headway. Police said the woman could have been murdered elsewhere and her body was brought in the suitcase and left there.
