Mangalore, July 19: A protest was organised by the BJP Yuva Morcha at the PVS circle in the city on July 18, Friday against the failure of the state government in checking crime against women. The protestors alleged that the government was hesitating to take action against rapists.
The protesters demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister K.J. George for not tackling the issue effectively.
President of the Yuva Morcha, Ravishanker Mijar said, “The recent incidents have developed a feeling of insecurity in women. The state stood third in the list of states where atrocities on women was the highest.”
Several youths participated in the protest.
