Kundapur; Feb 21: While addressing, Vikas Hegde, president of Kundapur Vidhana Sabha constituency’s youth congress said that the decision of Tamil Nadu Government led by chief minister Jayalalitha to release the accused in Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination case without any pre-conditions,, which was converted from death sentence to life imprisonment by the supreme court is only for political gain, is highly condemnable and disgusting, he said.
Having failed in providing justice to assassinated former prime minister, even in awarding stringent punishment to the accused, entry of politics in the case created a sense of instability among the people and posing danger to the unity of the nation at international level. Therefore the accused cannot be released, let whatever be the reason.In this regard central government should interfere and stop them and ensure that law is not being mis-used.Otherwise, a intense, fierce struggle will be organized in this regard, he warned.
