Mangaluru, October 26: A family of six that was returning after attending a wedding suffered injuries after the auto rickshaw in which they were travelling toppled at Kumpala in the evening of Sunday, October 25th.
Six persons were waiting for bus to return after attending the wedding of their relative at Suraksha Nagar in Kumpala. An auto rickshaw driver who saw the relatives offered them a drop and rode the rickshaw fast and while traversing a curve, the vehicle toppled.
As a result, Madur residents Nishith (16), Vishwanath (42); Ballalbhagh residents Bhaskar (45), his wife Vaneetha (38), and daughter Vinisha (16) and Hithesh(14) from Shakthinagar suffered injured and was shouting for help. The auto driver fled the spot soon after the incident, it is learnt.
The locals lifted up the auto rickshaw and admitted the injured to the hospital. Among the injured, Nishith suffered a broken leg injury and has undergone surgery, it is gathered.
Nishith is studying in second PUC commerce at Canara College here.
Ullal police have registered a case.
