Mangaluru, October 15: In a tragic accident at Mijar, Moodbidri here; a young videographer expired on Wednesday October 14th while he was on his way to distribute his wedding card to his relatives and friends. His wedding was scheduled on October 25th-2015 at Mahaveer hall in Moodbidre, it is said.
The deceased youth is Harish Acharya (29), son of Sridhar Acharya, a resident near Mahalingeshwara Temple, Shirtady.
It is learnt that Harish Acharya was a videographer by profession.
While Harish Acharya was moving near Alva’s Engineering College at Mijar on the NH-169, a speeding bus moving towards Mangaluru from Moodbidre collided head-on into his car. As an impact, the car rotated one round. Meanwhile, a heavy vehicle that was moving behind this vehicle in a bid to overtake, also collided to the car, it is said.
Although critically injured Harish was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru, but breathed his last on the way.
The car was badly mangled after the accident.
It is said that the other vehicle that collided to the car had moved on without stopping. Later it was intercepted at Moodbidre.
Moodbidri police have registered a case.
As the national highway is not widened, more accidents are taking place causing deaths. The government and the National Highway department have to get alert, urged the locals at Mijar.
