Mangaluru, October 1: The leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) and Bajrangdal demanded immediate arrest of Kannada Writer and Rationalist Prof Bhagwan for his controversial remarks on Hindu Gods and alleged that the state government as well as the police department is backing him which has failed to arrest Prof Bhagwan.
Addressing a press meet in the city on Wednesday, September 30th; the provincial working president of VHP Prof MB Puranik said, Bhagwan being an educated professor, is passing poor remarks on the Hindu Gods and as well as Bhagwadgeetha. Complaint has been filed against Prof Bhagwan over his controversial comments and though FIR has been filed against Prof Bhagwan, the police department has failed in arresting him, alleged M B Puranik.
Puranik alleged that Prof Bhagwan might be passing such controversial comments as he is supported by the state government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the police department. Prof Bhagwan must be arrested and stringent actions must be taken against him urged Puranik.
Jagdish Shenava, and Bhujanga Kulal were present among others on this occasion.
