Mangaluru, August 26: Theft has taken place in a Koragajja’s temple in Vamanjoor near Mangalajyoti school, outskirts of Mangaluru. People of coastal district have strong faith on a Supernatural Power named “Koragajja”.
The thieves broke into the temple located by the road side by breaking open the front door of the temple and fled with the Idol of Koragajja along with jewels and other items.
On Wednesday morning, when the devotees visited the temple to offer prayers, the theft came to light.
The theft is suspected to have been committed by notorious idol thieves.
The value of stolen items estimated to be more than Rs 2 lakhs.
Kankanady rural police visited the spot and investigated.
Canine squad and finger print experts were also brought to the spot.
