Mangaluru, July 29: Government would soon prepare a new project in order to revive the Kannada amateur theatre which is on the decline, informed State Minister for Kannada and Culture Umashree.
Umashree informed this while speaking to a delegation comprising Kasargod Chinna- former president of Konkani Sahitya Academy, VG Pal- former member of Karnataka Nataka Academy, Shashiraj Rao Kavoor-advocate and dramatist, organiser – Suhas Rao, and Nitin Pal, art patron.

For proposal put forward by Kasargod Chinna to organise a state level drama workshop for women, she said soon an initiative will be taken on this. She also expressed the need of the stage plays which depicts the problems faced by women and child, highlight about local problems.
VG Pal and Shashiraj Rao Kavoor clearly explained to the minister about the proposed Ranga Mandir project in DK which is in slow progress for which she assured of necessary actions.
