Mangaluru, May 5: In the final day’s sports event of the ongoing 19th Federation cup Senior Athletic Championship, Poovamma from Karnataka won the gold in the 400 metres race (53.41) and got qualified for the Asian Athletics Championship to be held in China. Anu R of Kerala won the silver (54.27) and Lintu Luka of Kerala won the bronze (54.31).
In the men’s 400m race Arokya Rajeev of Army (46.24) bagged the gold, V Sajeen of Airforce bagged the silver (46.94), and A Dharun of Tamilnadu won the bronze (47.25).
In the men’s discuss throw Arjun singh of TATA Motors won the gold (58.51), Dharmaraj Yada of Indian Army won the silver (58.41) and Kripal Singh of ONGC won the bronze (53.54).
In the 100m women’s hurdles, Gayathri of Tamilnadu won the gold (13.67), Deepika of Tamilnadu won the silver (13.76), Meghana Shetty of Karnataka won the bronze (13.88).
In the men’s 110 metes hurdles, Siddarth Thinga of ONGC bagged the gold (13.92), Surender of Tamilnadu bagged the silver (14.17), and K Prem Kumar of Telangana won the bronze (14.26).
In the 1500m men’s race, Jeenson Johnson of Army won the gold (3:46.98), Sandeep Kumar of Army won the silver (3:47.71), and Ajay K R Saroj of Assam won the bronze ((3: 48.86).
In the women’s 1500m race Sushnma Devi of Haryana won the gold (4:27.50), Chaitra P U of Kerala won the silver (4:27.94), and Sipra Sarkar of West Bengal won the bronze (4:28.62).
In the women’s 100m relay, Karnataka won the gold, Tamilnadu won the silver and Maharashtra wont the bronze. In the men’s wing Army won the gold, Tamilnadu won the silver and Karnataka won the bronze.
In the men’s triple jump, Arpinder Singh of ONGC secured the first place (16.13m), S N Mohammed of TATA Motors won the second place (15.86m) and U Karthik of Airforce won the third place (15.82m).
In the 400m men’s relay Army bagged the gold, Airforce bagged the silver and Haryana won the bronze. In the women’s group West Bengal bagged the gold, while Tamilnadu bagged the silver and Kerala won the bronze.
