Mangaluru, March 25: A man was attempted to be murdered at Mannagudda by an unidentified person by crushing the crown of the victim using a heavy stone. The incident which came to light in the morning is believed to have taken place at around 1 am on Wednesday, March 25th at Mannagudda here.
The deceased is Nagaraj Prabhu (40), a resident of Katipalla.
It is said that, when Nagaraj was sleeping in the pavement of a service centre at Mannagudda, unidentified person had crushed on his head using a heavy stone.
Despite of profuse bleeding, miraculously, Nagaraj was found to be alive in the morning. He was shifted to Wenlock hospital and is in critical state.
Sources said, Nagaraj faces several cases of theft in Suratkal police station who had been recently released from jail.
Barke cops rushed to the crime spot and registered a case.
