Every once in a while Japan comes up with something really crazy.
This time around, out of the stables of Japan’s whacky creations, come these futuristic short skirts that illuminate the wearer’s thighs.
The skirts, designed by Kiyoyuki Amano, are aptly named ‘Hikaru Skirt’ or ‘Shining Skirt’. The skirts come equipped with LED lights with miniature gyro sensors. The skirt lights up and the colour of the lights change every time the wearer moves.
Amano first placed light bulbs inside a skirt on a whim. But then he noticed that the lights pleasantly illuminated the wearer’s thighs. Soon he was working on creating a whole line of LED-illuminated mini skirts.
Amano created a Tumblr page dedicated to his unique creation on January 16. On the page he has also put out a small poem which reads:
“I am in the light.
I live inside the light.
I live before the light.”
So far, Amano hasn’t revealed a launch date or a price range yet.
But we are pretty sure that they will soon be a regular sight in Japan. And yes, upskirt photographers will have a gala time taking high quality photos of women’s thighs and buttocks since they will be pretty well lit.
Hopefully, these skirts will be worn only by women who have beautiful thighs.
