WASHINGTON: A 28-year-old Indian national has been sentenced to three years in prison by a US court for selling synthetic drugs commonly known as bath salts.
Phulbir Singh now faces deportation after serving his sentencing.
Singh was convicted after he pleaded guilty.
“Singh said he was sorry, but the state blamed him for selling drugs that killed people besides having no legal status in the country,” the local Muncie Free Press reported.
According to the daily, representatives of the Sikh Temple in Indianapolis described Singh as hard working and helpful.
