Indian on Interpol list for wife’s murder in Singapore

SINGAPORE: An Indian, the husband of a beautician whose decapitated body was found in a canal in Singapore, is now on Interpol’s wanted list.

Singapore police have been looking for 34-year-old Harvinder Singh to help in their investigations into the death of his wife Jasvinder Kaur, 33, who worked as a beautician here.

Harvinder, said to be from Kurukshetra in Haryana, had left Singapore via a checkpoint about half an hour before his wife’s body was discovered, The Straits Times reported today.

A fork lift driver Gursharan Singh, 25, has been charged with Kaur’s murder and remanded for psychiatric assessment. Police had previously said Gursharan was a friend of Harvinder, who worked as senior logistics coordinator.

All three are Indian nationals.Gursharan is accused of killing Kaur with an unknown man sometime between December 10 and December 12.If convicted, Gursharan faces capital punishment.The case will be mentioned in court again on January 17.

Police found Kaur’s trash bag-wrapped decapitated body floating in Whampoa river on December 12.

The deceased’s head was missing and both hands were severed at the wrists.

Kaur’s identity was established through forensic means.
