Mumbai, Mon Oct 14: Actor Sanjay Dutt — who is currently out on a 14-day furlough from Yerawada Central Jail — has sought a 14-day extension, citing health reasons. Jail authorities said a decision on the application would be taken on Monday after reviewing the report from the police station.

The 53-year-old actor, who had surrendered in May after the Supreme Court’s confirmation of his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai blasts for illegal possession of weapons, is serving the remaining 42 months of his five-year sentence.

He was released on a furlough, which he was entitled to after spending three months in jail.
