The Unit was inaugurated by Fr. Lancy Pinto, Parish Priest at the 1st General Body Meeting held on 11th January, 2015 at 12.00 Noon at the PPT Hall of the Parish. Meeting began with prayer & Hymn by Fr. Lancy. He welcomed BCS Vice President Mr. Lawrence D’Souza & Mrs. Rita Pinto of BCS Mahim Unit.
Mr. Leo Fernandes honoured Mr. Lawrence D’Souza, Vice President of BCS & Mrs. Flora D’Souza honoured Mrs. Rita Pinto of BCS Mahim Unit with Flower Bouquets.
Mr. Lawrence D’Souza expressed his happiness over the enrollment of nearly 200 Members.
Mr. Lawrence D’souza introduced the theme and activities of the BCS and different issues to be taken up such as involvement in Social, civic, education, political affairs, human rights, inter-religious dialogue, medical help, environment and general welfare of Catholics and Christians etc. He also mentioned that BCS is reporting directly its activities to Cardinal of Archdiocese of Mumbai.
Mrs. Rita Pinto given some examples how their Mahim Unit is working and become very helpful to the Parish/social needs of the parishners.
Election for a working Committee was held and following Committee was formed :
