A 26-year-old woman hanged herself in her Juhu house as her boyfriend watched it live on webcam Wednesday evening, reported CNN-IBN.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Shobana Manohar Surti had an argument with her boyfriend Swapnil Surve just the previous day which could have made Surti take the drastic step. The couple was in a relationship and wanted to get married but Surve’s family apparently opposed the marriage.

The Police say that Surve had called her sister and asked her to rush home. But her family had been unable to reach the house in time. Shobana was later declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
The report further mentions that the duo was about to get married about eight months ago but the marriage did not take place. The duo married secretly five months ago, but frequent quarrels later made Surve deny that the marriage had taken place.
CNN-IBN quoted a family member of the girl as saying, “There have been issues several times in the past too. The wedding was fixed for 24th but on 20th he cancelled it. She was in depression. We don’t know anything about their court marriage.” Police have seized Shobana’s laptop.
