The couple, residing in Dombivili township of Thane district, had frequent quarrels as the husband doubted his wife’s fidelity and objected to her association with her cousin, assistant police inspector AP Bhalerao said.
Yesterday morning, the woman along with her paramour attacked the victim, Sadiq Shaikh (35), with an iron rod, killing him on the spot, he said. The victim’s wife Tara (30) and her cousin Shahnawaz Hussain (35) were arrested this morning and booked under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
