Police sound alert in the city to track down vehicle
In a carjacking incident reported in the city on Sunday night, two armed men robbed a sports utility vehicle (SUV) from a techie in Madiwala.
Lokesh (24) from Koramangala, who works in an IT firm, had gone to drop his friend Ashwini home. While she was alighting the car, two men armed with lethal weapons confronted them and demanded valuables. They later threatened to kill Lokesh when he tried to resist, snatched the car key and forced him to alight.
The duo then sped away with the SUV. After recovering from shock, Lokesh went to the jurisdictional Madiwala police station and narrated the ordeal.
The police sounded an alert in the city to track down the vehicle. The Madiwala police have taken up a case of robbery.
“It looks like the attackers did not intend to rob anything other than the vehicle. They could be part of a bigger gang,” an official said.
