Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra on Tuesday said an order on constituting a judicial committee to probe into the alleged denotification of land acquired for the formation of Arkavathi Layout here will be issued in three to four days.

“A retired judge of the High Court will be appointed to conduct the probe. The High Court of Karnataka will not be ready to spare a judge,” Mr. Jayachandra told presspersons.

He would meet the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had announced in the Assembly that a judicial probe would be conducted into the alleged denotification of land. The probe period would be from the day of issuing the preliminary notification for the formation of the layout in 2003 to the day the revised scheme was submitted to the High Court recently.

To a query on the Akrama–Sakrama scheme, he said the matter was pending before the High Court.

Asked whether or not he would be interested to take the job of Deputy Chief Minister, he said the Chief Minister and the party high command had to take a decision on creating the post.

Mr. Jayachandra said there was no cold war between him and the State Congress president G. Parameshwara. “We both are friends,” he said.
