The police have arrested two persons for the murder of Manjunath (25), a vegetable vendor who worked in RMC Yard, near Peenya. The police say he was abducted and murdered by Kumar, a vegetable vendor in Subrahmanyanagar.

The police arrested two employees of Kumar – Govindaraju (23) and Lakshmipathy (25) – who allegedly abducted and bludgeoned the victim, Manjunath, to death. The two dumped his body at an isolated place at Yalandur in Chamarajanagar district and set it on fire, the police say.

The Yelandur police, who recovered the partially burnt body, registered a case of unnatural death. Meanwhile, Manjunath’s family filed a missing complaint with the Subramanyapura police. The police came to know that Manjunath was last seen with Lokesh, who worked with Kumar. The police went to question him but by then, Lokesh and Kumar were absconding.

The police detained Govindaraju and Lakshmipathy for questioning, leading to the two confessing they had a role in the murder. The police are on the lookout for Kumar, Lokesh and another person.
