ADGP withdraws resignation

Senior IPS officer P. Ravindranath, who had submitted his resignation in the wake of an allegation that he took photographs of a woman in a coffee shop, has withdrawn his resignation.

Though Dr. Ravindranath had agreed to withdraw his resignation after he was persuaded by Minister for Public Works H.C. Mahadevappa and Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya on Monday, the IPS officer had, on Tuesday, changed his mind.

But on Wednesday, he withdrew his resignation, informed sources said.

Though the State government had forwarded his resignation to the Union government, Home Minister K.J. George had said that Dr. Ravindranath had 90 days from the date of submission of his resignation to withdraw it.

Dr. Ravindranath had been transferred from the post of ADGP, KSRP, Bangalore, and posted as ADGP, Research and Restructuring, Karnataka State Police, Dharwad.
