arrest

The Vidhana Soudha police arrested two persons who were allegedly cheating people by posing as special officers to the Chief Minister.

The police identified the arrested men as Vijay Kumar (32), resident of R.T. Nagar, and Lokesh Rao (40), resident of Vijayanagar. The action of the police came after a complaint was lodged against the two.

According to the police, Vijay Kumar, who claims to be journalist, and his friend Lokesh Rao, who works as supervisor at a private factory, along with their associates, Umesh and Madhu, used to approach people with an offer to get admission for their children in prestigious schools and colleges. And, they would demand money in exchange of seats. Once they finalised a deal with a seat aspirant and got the money, the men would write to the institution concerned on a fake Congress letterhead with ‘forged signatures’ demanding that a seat be given to a particular person. They would also call up the head of the institution concerned to remind him/her about the seat allotment. The police seized a computer and hard disc from the arrested.
