A 33-year-old call centre employee died when he fell from the terrace of a six-storeyed office building near Domlur Ring Road here in the early hours of Tuesday.

The victim, Mahender Umashankar, a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar, was unmarried and working in Capita India, a call centre at Maruthi Infotech Centre, for the past few years.

On Tuesday morning, he went for his morning shift at 5 a.m., and half an hour later, he went to the rooftop to have tea.

The security guard of the building heard the sound of a falling object and found Mahender Umashankar lying on the ground in a pool of blood. The guard informed the staff of the call centre and alerted the police.

The Airport Road police shifted the body to Bowring Hospital for post-mortem. The police suspected it to be a case of suicide or murder.
