Sakleshpur: Traffic on the Bangalore-Mangalore national highway via Shiradi Ghat was restored Wednesday afternoon, after the two gas tankers that had met with an accident were removed.
On Sunday morning, a gas tanker met with an accident near Kappalli and on Monday evening, another gas tanker met with an accident near Doddatappale on the Shiradi Ghat stretch, affecting traffic for nearly four days.
The movement of vehicles was completely halted on the stretch. Gas from the two tankers that had fallen into the pits was evacuated into other tankers, and traffic was cleared.
