Bangalore: A couple was arrested at Devanahalli on charge of murdering their daughter.
The police identified the arrested persons as Narayanaswamy (54) and his wife Lakshmi.The victim, Vidyashri (17), was Narayanaswamy’s daughter from his first wife.
According to the police, Lakshmi, who was eyeing Narayanaswamy’s property, used to allegedly torture her step-children. She drove a wedge between Narayanaswamy and Vidyashri by constantly complaining against her, and the couple on Saturday allegedly beat up Vidyashri and fed her poison. When Vidyashri became unconscious, neighbours and her two step-brothers shifted her to Mahaveer Jain hospital in Devanahalli where she died on Monday.
