Bangalore: In a bid to give an electoral push to its candidates in Bangalore, the BJP is bringing Narendra Modi to address election rallies in Bommanahalli on Tuesday.
This would be Modi’s second visit to Bangalore after he was declared the prime ministerial candidate. The rally christened ‘Bharata Gellisi’ would be held at the grounds opposite PES College on Hosur Road, Bommanahalli at 7 pm.
Speaking to reporters at the venue on Monday, former deputy chief minister R Ashoka said apart from supporting his party candidates, Modi’s speech will focus mainly on Bangalore and his plans for the City.
The venue is spread across 20 acres and arrangements are nearing completion. A sizeable number of people from the IT sector are expected to participate in the rally as the venue is surrounded by a large number of software companies, he said. Modi will also address rallies at Bagalkot, Koppal and Mysore. He will address rallies in various places in the State on April 9, 13 and 15.
Security
Nearly two lakh people are expected to take part in the rally to be held at 2 pm in Bagalkot.
Apart from over 5,000 police personnel deployed at the venue, a special security team from Gujarat has arrived at the city to oversee the arrangments.
