In response to a letter by Kannada Development Authority Chairman Mukhyamantri Chandru on the usage of Kannada language in Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), Pradeep Singh Karola, BMRCL Managing Director clarified that the corporation was giving prominence to it in almost all aspects of administration and that knowledge of Kannada had been made mandatory for all recruitments.
He said while recruiting 654 candidates for C and D group employees, except for 21 former soldiers, all others knew Kannada. In a letter to Mr. Chandru, Mr. Karola said that except technical matters, Kannada was being used in all other communications including inviting tenders and outsourcing. He further assured that the Corporation would follow government policies related to implementation of Kannada language.

we need not request any authority for our rights they have to follow law of the land .local language and culture are superior to any authority.its really a sorry sight to see local people requesting others to save their language which should have unfettered powers…
