With model code of conduct likely to come into effect on Wednesday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was a busy man on Tuesday. He inaugurated housing complexes constructed under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) at Nageshwara Nagenahalli and Seegehalli in K.R. Puram and Vinobha Nagar in Kadugondanahalli, besides several other development projects in Sarvagnanagar.

Handing over the title deeds to a few beneficiaries at Vinobha Nagar, the Chief Minister said that the government was working towards making Karnataka a slum-free State. Beneficiaries of the new housing complexes, who were being provided with basic amenities, should send their children to school, he added.

Mr. Siddaramaiah inaugurated a 10-bed dialysis centre constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 crore at Vinobha Nagar by Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.

While the services would be provided for free for BPL card holders, those from APL families would be charged Rs. 500 per session.

Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated a playground and park at Byataguntepalya developed by Bangalore Development Authority. Home Minister K.J. George said that the park and playground have been developed at a cost of Rs. 52 lakh.
